Lisa M. Stiffler, Inc. is an Enrolled Agent tax service business. The following is a brief description of an Enrolled Agent. The Enrolled Agent Program dates back to 1884. An Enrolled Agent is a federally authorized tax practitioner who is enpowered by the United States Department of Treasury. An EA has the right to represent tax payers before all levels of the IRS including tax return preparation, audits, collections or appeals. The only individuals allowed to represent a tax payer before the IRS are EA's, CPA's or Attorneys.

Enrolled Agents are the only tax practitioner who are required to prove to the IRS their ability in tax matters before they can represent a taxpayer. EA's are required to attain 72 hours of continuing education every renewal cycle to maintain their licensing. This education keeps us current with the always changing tax laws. Currently there are approximately 46,000 EA's in the United States. We are bound by the ethical standards set by the U. S. Treasury Department.
